Tenute Sella - Bramaterra DOC - 2016

A wine of ancient origin with a distinct personality, first mentioned in a historical document from 1447. The wine comes from the best grapes selected from the Tenuta Sella plots in the municipalities of Villa del Bosco and Brusnengo. The Bramaterra is known for its minerality, which gives richness, purity and precision to the taste.

Composition: Nebbiolo 70% - Croatina 20% - Vespolina 10%.

Profile: first production was in 1902. The vineyards are located on the Bramaterra hills in the municipality of Villa Bosco in Alto Piemonte. The average age of the vineyards is 48 years, as previously mentioned hilly with south-east exposition at 300-350 meters above sea level. The classic planting system of the vineyard is Guyot. Soils with excellent ph acidity arise from porphyric sandy soils of volcanic origin with the color rosso bruno. Harvest from mid-September to mid-October. The first Bramaterra was produced in 1902, averaging 12,000 bottle per vintage.

Aging: cooling of the grapes upon arrival at the Tenute Sella cantina. Fermentation in inox vats with remontage and delestage. Average fermentation maceration is 24 days long, then 24 months in French oak for the small barrels, Slavonian oak for the large barrels of medium toasting (50 hectoliters and barrique).

Nose: Expressive nose of raspberry and blackberry, against a spicy and mineral background.

Mouth: The sip is balanced, mineral and full-bodied. With well-mixed tannins and harmonious finish.
