94/100 grande punteggio di Wine Enthusiast
"Fragrant and firmly structured, this offers enticing scents of ripe berry, baking spice, tobacco, leather and a balsamic note. The solid palate doles out sour cherry, crushed raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon, clove and anise. A tannic backbone and bright acidity lend structure and balance. It boasts a surprisingly age-worthy structure given the heat of the vintage.

A tradition of more than 150 years - Barolo "Mantoetto" DOCG
The Barolo Mantoetto is the only vineyard located in Cherasco, more specifically in the hills of San Michele, where the Mentone family has been producing Barolo since the 1880s.
This small Nebbiolo vineyard is situated on a cliff in the hamlet of San Michele, on the border with the territory of La Morra. This area is very sunny and has an ideal microclimate for growing grapes. The soil is limestone and clay, resulting in full-bodied wines, soft and with a varied bouquet.
The Nebbiolo grapes that produce Barolo "Mantoetto" consist of three genetic varieties: Lampia, Michet, Rosé. The Mantoetto is considered one of the oldest "Cru" of Barolo.
Umberto Fracassi Ratti Mentone, the 84-year-old owner of the wine estate, believes that in order to produce an excellent wine, you just have to take care not to damage the harvest in the cellar. Only removing weeds around the stump, careful pruning and trimming so that only the best barges get a chance to be harvested is what belongs to his philosophy. He also wants the wine to mature for 4 years in Slovenian oak. This is much more than what is imposed by law BAROLO DOCG.
The Mantoetto is an extraordinary wine, bright, amaranth colour with garnet. The nose is persistent, vinous and fruity with hints of plum, cherry, cherry jam and liquorice.
Colour: garnet red, shiny, with orange reflections.
Bouquet: sober, but velvety soft, pleasant, intense scent of violet and wilted roses.
Taste: dry, full, robust but velvety with strong memories of "tar".
Grape Nebbiolo variant "Lampia", "Michet" and "Rose".
ALCOHOL: 14.50
