Profile: Generazioni is the latest wine in Ca Ed Curen's range. The name they have chosen combined with the image on the label is meant to convey the generational transition from father to son, in fact they are now approaching the fourth generation.
The hand-picked grapes are immediately taken to the cellar where the crushed grapes undergo a pre-fermentation of at least 24 hours. Once fermentation is underway, the first three days involve stirring three to four times a day until the end of fermentation. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation for 2 months in steel tanks. At the beginning of the year, the wine is transferred to tonneaux of steamed oak to best obtain the sweet sensations of the wood used, and stays there for at least a year. After this period, the wine gets a short rest in the tank, is bottled and remains in bottle for a while before being put up for sale.
Aroma: In the nose, notes of ripe red fruits such as blackberry and raspberry, dried flowers, vanilla spices.
Flavour: On the palate it is warm, soft and quite tannic, with a generally balanced body.
