The grapes come from the Cascina Penna vineyard, in Canale, an area that has always had a vocation for growing Barbera: three hectares facing east, with a large cherry tree in the middle. Thanks to not being fully exposed to the sun, the grapes are fresh, with good acidity at harvest. This vineyard was planted in 1997, the year before when the owners got married.
