Francesco Brigatti

The activity of the Company began at the beginning of the 20th century when Alessandro Brigatti, the current owner's grandfather, began to support the cultivation of grains with the cultivation of vines. The young Alessandro, who has always been passionate about wine, sets off in search of the ideal place to plant his own vineyards and that is how he comes across a graceful and gentle hill, exposed to the south and by the clayey soil. It is love at first sight and certainly not misplaced since it is one of the best hills in the area: the MötZiflon. In these evocative places Alessandro cultivates Nebbiolo, Vespolina and Uva Rara, or the three most typical red vines of the Novara hills, from whose grapes he obtains a wine aged for twenty months in oak barrels and marketed in neighboring countries in small wooden barrels of seven brente (350 liters). Thus MötZiflon was born, which has always been the most representative wine of the company, whose name literally means hill of birdsong.

At the end of the 50s the second generation gave the decisive turn to the company. Luciano Brigatti puts aside the title of accountant to follow his passions and invests everything in the company. Expanding the vineyards, changing the forms of farming, introduces the practice, in those pioneering times, of the selection of grapes as well as the aging and bottling of wine.

Since 1995 the Brigatti Agricultural Company is managed by Francesco, an oenologist and agronomist, and maintains a strictly family-run business. It has six hectares of vineyards cultivated according to the criteria of integrated pest management respecting the environment. The annual production is about 20,000 bottles.

Today the company can boast besides the production of the classic Uva Rara, Greco novarese Mottobello and MötZiflon, also the development of other four successful wines: the Vespolina vinified in purity, the Barbera Campazzi (twice winner of the prestigious wine competition Oro), Nebbiolo Mötfrei and passito Costabella.
