Piacere Barbaresco - 1200 bottles uncorked for 2500 winelovers
Piacere Barbaresco, an event organized by the regional Enoteca, ended with great success. Last month 13-14-15 October, 500 registrations were registered at the tasting desk, while more than 200 accredited participants took part in the tasting on Monday, and 100 in the seminars. In three days, about 1,200 bottles were uncorked and more than 2,500 people visited Barbaresco.
Piacere Barbaresco proposed a very rich tasting table, which offered the possibility to compare about a hundred labels, proposed by about fifty producers. The tastings were accompanied by specific cheeses, guided tours of the cru vineyard and visits to the medieval tower. New this year was a day dedicated exclusively to professionals, with a tasting organized in Alba, and three meetings on the terroir of Barbaresco, held by Alessandro Masnaghetti and Edmondo Bonelli, who alternated in an interesting master class on Barbaresco.
Masnaghetti, author of Barbaresco Mga, the encyclopaedia of the great vineyards, believes that it is important for producers to make the territory known through storytelling. Bonelli, an expert geologist, illustrated the composition of the rocks and the soil and stressed the importance of the latter for cultivation, but not decisively, since the microclimate plays a fundamental role.
